Week 6 Results
The first game of the night was between Rink Luisi and Shamrocks. Both teams won their games last week by a large margin, but only one team could win this week. Rink Luisi started the game with the Hammer and put up 3 points in the first end. Following that, they stole the second end by one. Shamrocks came back in the third, putting up two points to bring the game closer. Rink Luisi took the fourth end by one, to lead by three halfway through the game. Shamrocks took the fifth end by a point, but Rink Luisi took the next two ends, both by two points, to win the game 9-3.
The second game of the early draw was the battle for first – McBride taking on Rock Lobster. Both teams entered the game undefeated, constantly swapping first and second place throughout the season. McBride started the game by taking the first end by one. With the Hammer, the Lobsters took the second end by two, then followed by taking the third and the fourth by one each. McBride took the fifth end by a point and Rock Lobster responded by taking the sixth by a point, to lead by three. McBride started a comeback by taking the seventh end by a point, but the comeback was not long – Rock Lobster took the eigth end by two, winning the game 7-3.
Sweeping Beauties took on Hot Buttons for the first game of the late draw. Hot Buttons won the Hammer and took the first end by one point. After surrendering the Hammer, Hot Buttons then stole the next end, putting up three points on the Beauties. The Beauties, Hammer in hand, took the next end by one, to get on the board. The Beauties then put up a five-ender on the Buttons, to lead the game by two at the half way point. The Sweeping Beauties were not done scoring, however. They took the fifth by a point and the sixth by two points at which point the teams decided to call it a game. Sweeping Beauties won 9-4.
Los Raspados took on the Millar in the middle game of the late draw. Los Raspados won the Hammer and put up two points in the first end. They followed by putting up another point in the second. Millar responded by putting up three in the third to tie the game. Los Raspados took the fourth end by a point and Millar responded by tying the game in the fifth. This pattern would continue for the next two ends, Raspados taking six and Millar taking seven, tying the game heading into the eighth. Millar crushed Los Raspados’ hopes of a win by stealing the final end by a point, winning the game 6-5.
The final game of the night was the Hammer Time squaring off against In Da House. Hammer Time was looking to rebound from their whooping at the hands of McBride last week and In Da House was looking to continue on their current win streak. Hammer Time won the Hammer and took the first end by one. In Da House, with the Hammer advantage, took the second end by a point, then took the third by a point as well. Hammer Time responded by putting up three points in the fourth end to lead the game by two half way through. Hammer Time then put up a point in the fifth, the sixth, and the seventh end, winning the game 7-2.
