Week 2 Results
The first game of the evening pitted Hot Buttons against the recently formed Team Millar. Millar started the game by taking the first end by one point. Hot Buttons responded in the second end with a point and followed with another point in the third. Team Millar then put Hot Buttons in a bad position when they dropped a 5-enders on them in the fourth, and followed that with another two points in the fifth. Hot Buttons, however, would not be counted out. They took the sixth end by two, and then took the seventh end by three to tie the game going into the final end. In the first tiebreaker of this league Hot Buttons put up the final point of the game, defeating Team Millar 9-8.
On Sheet three was the silver medal winners from last season taking on the bronze medal winners. After winning the Hammer, Sweeping Beauties got off to a great start by taking the first end with three points. Hammer Time won the Hammer and used it well against the Beauties, hammering home a five point end to take the second. From there the Sweeping Beauties took the third end by three, and gave up the next end to Hammer Time for two. The see-saw game continued as the Beauties took the fifth end with a 4-ender, putting Hammer Time in a tight spot. The sixth end also went the Sweeping Beauties, where they took four points, effectively putting the game out of reach. Down by 7 going into the seventh, Hammer Time took the last end, but lost the game 14-8.
The first game of the late draw put two teams will very similar names up against each other – Team Luis versus Rink Luisi. Team Luis put up the first points in the game, taking the first end by two. Rink Luisi responded by hammering Team Luis for four in the second. Team Luis responded to by taking the third by one, and then with the Hammer against them, taking the fourth end by four. Rink Luisi responded in the fifth by putting up three to take the lead by one. Luisi followed that in the sixth with two points to take a three point lead going into the seventh. Team Luis had the Hammer and put up two in the seventh, but fell one short of the tie, losing to Rink Luisi 9-8.
Shamrocks took on Rock Lobster on sheet 2 to try and maintain their first place position in the league. Shamrocks started the game with the Hammer and put up one point in the first end. Rock Lobster responded in the second by taking two points, and followed that in the third by taking two more. With the Hammer once again against them in the fourth, Rock Lobster took another two points, leading the game by five halfway through. Shamrocks then put up a big four point end to bring the game within one in the fifth. Rock Lobster countered in the sixth by taking two, and took another point in the seventh. Shamrocks took the last end by one, but fell short by three. Rock Lobster won 9-6, to take second place in the standings.
The final game of the evening was a battle between McBride and In Da House. In Da House started the game by putting one point up on the board. McBride pretty much took control of the game from there, putting up a point in the second, following that with two points in the third and another in the fourth. McBride was not finished, however, and put up a four-point end in the fifth to take a strangle hold on the game. In Da House scored two points in the sixth end, but McBride took another 4 points in the seventh to finish off the game, and take first place in the standings. McBride won 12-3.
